Review of major challenges in Spanish grammar, including the verb system (major tenses and moods, morphology, and aspect), areas of contrast with English, and some lexical/semantic issues. Prerequisite: four semesters of Spanish or equivalent (Elementary Proficiency).

Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 2
Overview of major challenges in Spanish grammar, including the verb system (major tenses and moods, morphology, and aspect), areas of contrast with English, and some lexical/semantic issues. Prerequisite: Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or equivalent (five semesters of Spanish or Intermediate Proficiency).

Advanced Spanish Grammar
Intensive study and analysis of Spanish grammar including tense, aspect, and mood; morphological problems; syntactic variation; style in oral and written expression; brief discussion of dialectal variation. Advanced hours credit. Prerequisite: Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or equivalent (five semesters of Spanish or Intermediate Proficiency).

Conversation
Practice in speaking Spanish; to be taken concurrently with Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or 2 or Advanced Spanish Grammar.

Spanish Composition
Basic composition course; problems of written Spanish and principles of Spanish stylistic patterns; weekly written exercises. To be taken concurrently with Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or 2.

Culture of Spain
Survey of Spanish culture from the 15th century to present times. History, traditions, customs and current events. Extensive reading in Spanish. Advanced hours credit. Can be taken concurrently with: Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or 2 or Advanced Spanish Grammar .

Introduction to History of Art in Spain
An introductory course to the mayor art periods and artists in Spain: Islamic art, Renaissance, Baroque and Contemporary (Picasso). Prerequisite or concurrent with Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or equivalent (four semesters of Spanish or Elementary Proficiency).

Spanish for Business
Introduction to the vocabulary of commerce in the Spanish speaking world; composition of business letters, resumés, and similar texts. Sample of company creation in a Spanish context. Exports and imports. Finances. Taxes. Labour market and regulations. Marketing and publicity. Prerequisite or concurrent with Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or equivalent (four semesters of Spanish or Elementary Proficiency).

Culture of Islam
An introduction to the diversity of Islam: Religion, History, Traditions, Art, Social issues, Science and current events. With a focus on the history of Spanish Al-Andalus. Taught in Spanish. Advanced hours credit. Prerequisite or concurrent with Practical Review of Spanish Grammar 1 or equivalent (four semesters of Spanish or Elementary Proficiency).

Credit: 3 hours per course (45 lessons)
(except Introduction to Spanish Art History: 1 credit/15 lessons)
